Historique :	Catherine de Bar, mère Mectilde du Saint Sacrement, est la fondatrice de la congrégation de bénédictines vouée à l'adoration perpétuelle de l'hostie en réparation de sacrilèges commis à son égard, le 12 mars 1654. Ce tableau provient du couvent parisien des bénédictines du saint sacrement, fermé il y a quelques années. Il a toujours été attribué à Philippe de Champaigne
