Historique :	Toile remployée entre 1873 et 1879 dans le nouveau décor du chœur de l'église, provenant d'un autel en gypserie vraisemblablement achevé en 1782. Une inscription au revers indique que la toile a été offerte par Jean-Baptsite de Parouty, procureur-général de la cour des Aides de Montauban.

Précision_sur la representation :	Assis au bord d'un cours d'eau, un mouton à couché à ses pieds,Saint Jean-Baptiste prêche l'index droit levé à l'adresse de quatre hommes barbus. L'oeuvre reprend la composition du dessin préparatoire et de la toile de François Boucher sur le même sujet, exécutée en 1761 pour la cathédrale de Versailles.
