Description :	Le pressoir est en chêne. Il est constitué d'une vis centrale verticale associée à une roue horizontale. Un bâti composé de deux poteaux verticaux avec deux jambes de forces enserre une traverse horizontale qui porte la vis centrale. La pression donnée par la vis est transmise aux cales par l’intermédiaire d’une pièce transversale, le mouton. La maie est constituée de madriers assemblés par des mortaises et tenons traversants à chevilles. Le cabestan d'origine n'existe plus ; l'actuel est moderne.

Historique :	Ce pressoir se trouvait à l'origine dans une des salles basses du château de Bruniquel. Il s'agit d'un rare exemple de pressoir à vis centrale et cabestan, animé par une roue horizontale. L'encombrement de ce type de pressoir est très réduit par rapport à d'autres machines à levier. Le cabestan qui permettait d'animer la roue n'existe plus. Le pressoir a été démonté récemment et installé dans la cour du château, sous un abri. Un nouveau cabestan a été créé à cette occasion. Ce pressoir servait à écraser le raisin pour élaborer du vin, destiné à la consommation des résidents du château. Il pourrait remonter à la fin du XVIe ou au début du XVIIe siècle. Ce type de pressoir était utilisé pour des productions de vin d'importance moyenne et était assez répandu dès le XVIIe siècle.
